Welcome to the month of the Harvest Festival! What harvest is Wonderland celebrating, you might ask? Why, the what isn't nearly as important as the celebration itself, of course. The garden will remain open for most of the month and will be host to a number of activities including apple picking, cider making, and nightly gatherings around the campfires making s'mores and telling scary stories.
Overnight, a pumpkin patch will appear in the garden, filled with pumpkins of all sizes. Characters will be encouraged to pick one to decorate and display in their rooms. They will be provided with paints or carving tools to create their masterpiece. Hotel staff will seem varying levels of invested in getting characters to participate; some will half-heartedly offer and others may all but chase characters down and redirect them to the pumpkin patch.
Along with the pumpkins will come a large number of scarecrows. They will be gathered primarily around the pumpkin patch itself, but may be found scattered throughout the garden. Characters who frequent the garden may notice that these scarecrows seem somehow familiar. They may even find scarecrows with an eerie resemblance to someone they know โย this could be a family member or friend, a significant other, an enemy, someone alive or dead.
Once the connection has been made, characters will find that they see this same scarecrow every time they're in the garden. It will never be in the same place twice, but it will always be facing the hedge maze. The more time a character spends in the garden, the more they will see the scarecrow, as though it is following them. They may even begin to hear whispers that sound like the person they know, although no one else will seem to hear them and it is impossible to make out what is being said. Characters who attempt to dismantle or otherwise destroy the scarecrows will find that they come back the next day, unless burned with fire.
The hedge maze itself remains difficult, though not impossible, to access. Characters who enter it will wander for some time and eventually find themselves back in the garden again. While in the maze, they may notice the sound of faint breathing despite no one being there, or see signs of something moving in the hedge walls despite not being able to find anything. These will get louder and more frequent as the month goes on. By the third week of October, even those only wander close to the hedge border while in the garden may hear breathing or see something moving.
If asked about any of this, hotel staff response will vary. Some will brush characters off, some may take the opportunity to complain about the green creatures still swarming the hotel (though their numbers are dwindling), and others may encourage characters to carve a pumpkin.
The garden will close on the 23rd, but characters will not have seen the last of the scarecrows! They will begin appearing in the hotel, everywhere from the buffet to characters' bedrooms. Their voices will grow louder, and may become discernable as threats or words of warning. Characters will begin to see signs of something moving outside their windows, though it will be too quick and shadowy to tell what it is. After a few times, they will find that the movement out of the corner of their eye now seems as though it's inside the room itself. They may get the feeling that they're being watched, or that they aren't alone. Hotel staff will become more tense and afraid, and may even accuse characters of letting something out.
(Players are also welcome to opt out of experiencing the scarecrows or things moving in their rooms if they would like! Characters who decorate a pumpkin and display it in their room may find themselves protected from these experiences.)
The event will culminate in a costume party in the newly available ballroom on Halloween night! There will be party activities such as bobbing for apples, more pumpkin carvings, dancing, a costume contest, karaoke, free flowing food and alcohol. Costumes will become available in This Elegant Thimble (still no shoes or socks, sorry). Characters who would be reluctant to dress up may even find that on Halloween, all of their clothes have been removed except for a costume.
The party itself will be crashed by the monster that was once in the hedge maze and has found its way to the hotel. Hotel staff will barricade themselves in a staff only area off of the ballroom, and characters will be left to fend for themselves against the monster. It will be shadowy and difficult to pin down, and will seem to either be able to be multiple places at once or made up of a spiderweb of shadows all belonging to one hive mind. These shadows may also resemble characters' loved ones or enemies, speaking in the same voices that once came from the scarecrows, and characters may find themselves having to fight shades of people they know.
The events from the 23rd on will also function as our TDM for the month, to invite new players or characters to come in and play with the seasonal event! A TDM post will still go up on the 23rd and include prompts from the event as well as one or two new prompts.

1) Can the monster potentially injure or kill a character, resulting in character death?
2) For people who can't fight or don't want to fight, can they make an escape for safety through a door or run to another area of the hotel? Or the monster and it's shadows can give chase to make it's attack throughout the hotel? I was thinking the shadows can divide the group, so they attack one on one and they can't help each other.
3) To fight the monster in an effort to stop it, can the monster be killed, injured or suppressed or chase off hotel premises? What will be effective in killing the monster or suppressing it using magic?

2. Both scenarios would be fine! Players not wanting to have their characters fight the monster could run from the ballroom; they would be safe in any room with a pumpkin decorating it. The shadows could also chase characters to other parts of the hotel and have a showdown there.
3. Anything that would injure the person who the shade resembles would slow it down, and anything that would normally kill the person will cause it to temporarily disappear. The shades will keep reappearing unless they are destroyed with fire, similar to the scarecrows. The monster will retreat after most of its shades are destroyed.

If he's not able to be separated from Lan Wangji's body, he will end up being taken to solitary confinement. His stay there would last longer than before, and he would be released three days after Lan Wangji has been revived.

Event Plans:
- Harvest Festival: He will be generally around enjoying the harvest festival and taking a walk through the garden. He'll pick the pumpkins and carve them, making Jack-o-laterns.
- Scarecrows: He's going to find those scarcecrows look suspiciously look like the enemies he has killed, or members of his clan, and why they're stalking him in the garden, in the hotel, and in his bedroom. He'll be creep out that they seem to talk or whispering to him, and he's the least likely to think he's hallucinating. Of course, he'll try to destroy them everyday until he placed the pumpkins inside of his room.
- Hedge maze: He won't enter the maze unless someone gets lost and needs helping getting out.
- Costume party/monster: So for the Halloween party, he's going to dress up like a wizard. As for the monster crash, well depending who he is fighting against and how strong the monster is, it maybe a fight to the death. ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
I see an open window for lwj's first death, so despite that he has regained his healing powers to heal another and save another character's life. He'll probably get killed when he tried to save someone from dying during the battle or to buy the others time to escape. Plot out with me how this goes!
As for the shades, he's going to see his sect's 33 elders he fought against and an imposter Yiling Patriach Wei Wuxian who repeatedly telling him to "Get Lost" over and over...
- Other: He'll be sad to see the green creatures go, but relieved that they're gone because they're everywhere and he's a super neat, tidy man.

Event Plans:
โข Giyu will participate in decorating a pumpkin only out of the instance from the staff because being chased down to carve and paint produce is the only way to make this man engage in anything. Plus it is something to do and he hasn't had much to do. Maybe he will end up liking. Maybe.
โข The scarecrows will be ignored until they start to gain that eerie resemblance to some dead people he knows and then he will completely avoid going near them. He won't have to do much because well pumpkin. But there's that temptation of going back to have a second look at them, and maybe, just maybe if it becomes a danger he would be compelled to act against them.
โข I have no idea what he will be for the costume party but given that he won't to make that choice on his own and will magically find himself in a costume, I guess it might end up being something ridiculous.
Throw ideas at me. Just going to say that whatever he winds up dressed as he won't like it because he likes his own clothes. Anyway as for the monster part he is more than willing to throw himself into a fight to save people, although without his sword he'll have a more difficult time getting through a battle.CR Desires:

Matt is an introvert but will try to be friendly so maybe he can strike up a conversation or convince Giyu to try one of the activities.

It could serve for some good interaction, yeah, Giyu isn't about having long conversations so maybe it could be a lot of silently hanging out and working on something together? I think that could work especially if Matt convinces him to join in one stuff. Maybe they can decorate pumpkins together.

Event Plans:WWX's birthday is Halloween!! So he will be getting very excited for his birthday and even more excited about the fact that there is going to be a party on that day. Don't know what costume he will be wearing yet but since he has the shapeshifting ability the possibilities are rather endless.
He is likely to decorate a pumpkin and enjoy spending all his time in the gardens. He figures they are going to get taken away eventually so every waking moment is spent outside.
He will definitely fight the monster..probably drunkenly since its a party and his birthday.
CR Desires:All of it! He's a newlywed, its his birthday month and he is just generally happy overall. He will chat with anyone about anything.
Character: Xie Lian
Event Plans: He will likely spend most of his time in the gardens as well. For the scarecrows I imagine he is going to see Hua Cheng from his world and it will actually be a welcome change even if the scarecrow is supposed to be creepy. He's not likely to be too bothered by it.
He will certainly attempt to fight the monster. He has a weapon on his body that will strike anything that tries to attack him.
Not sure what he is wearing to the party but he will be quietly watching everything from the corner.
CR Desires: He needs more friends! Please tell him the scarecrows are creepy.
Sam Wilson (MCU) | Lan Xichen (The Untamed)
Event Plans: He'll definitely partake in pumpkin carvings and other various festival activities, because why not! He's also probably going to be one of the people that tries to go through the hedge maze, though he'll look for someone to do it with him.
The scarecrows will unnerve him a little, but mostly he'll just be kind of irritated and ignore them.
Still deciding on his costume, but he'll dress up willingly because he might as well enjoy it while he can! He is absolutely going to have to face off against the shade of Riley, his former wingman who died on a mission. Debating throwing Steve Rogers or some of the other Avengers in there for fun, but Sam is gonna have a Time.
CR Desires: Anything and everything! He's pretty down over Jet disappearing, but is still looking for allies and wanting to keep a slightly protective eye on his remaining CR.
Character: Lan Xichen
Event Plans: it's his birthday this month! He's going to take advantage of the garden being open for it and maybe ask his family/friends to have a little outdoor dinner or something.
Festival activities-wise, he'll give everything a try! Once the scarecrows start appearing he's going to be spending less time in the garden - he already has enough ghosts of his past haunting him thank you.
Undecided on his costume as well, but he'll definitely go in one, even if he doesn't get to choose it! Lan Xichen is going to have a run in with Jin Guangyao as a shade, which won't be awful at all. Debating also including his uncle and/or his parents, depending on how terrible I want to be. He's going to fight off as many shades as he can and will be down for team ups or helping people out!

-In his experience weird noises have a perfectly good explanation. Pipes, vermin, the neighbor's stomach growling... Matt will remain calm until the voices start up. Feel free to argue with him about the level of scary or turn to him for help keeping it cool.
-Matt will hear Stick and Elektra's voices, both characters he has a complicated history with. He won't be able to bring himself to kill the monster and might end up in danger by tiring out or letting his guard down. Other characters can save him by helping him escape, helping him with an injury, etc. I'm open to ideas.
-Still deciding what he'll do at the harvest or party other than eat and drink. Maybe he'll be ridiculously good at bobbing for apples or something.
