What an unfortunate time to be short-staffed, when there's so much to do! For days, staff members can be seen bustling about, always on the move. No time to stop and talk — the Queen is preparing a surprise! Staff members seem to positively hum with excitement. Their numbers are replenished in fits and bursts. Groups of new hotel staff appear all at once, until there seems to be even more of them than there were before the disappearances.

They don't seem to understand who you're talking about, if you ask about those disappearances. "Staff turnover happens in every establishment, dear. Why — they might have even gotten a promotion!" Aren't you much more interested in the upcoming trip, anyway?

Now that there are more of them, staff members are eager to expand on the surprise. Oh, to see the gardens and the forest! You Oysters are so fortunate that the Queen wishes to show you the wonders of Wonderland. Of course, the forest can be dangerous — or is it only rumors? The opinion seems to change with every staff member you talk to, and no one can pin down why it might be dangerous. The only consensus seems to be to stay close to your escorts.

And most importantly: please remember the buddy system at all times.

EVENT THREE

Preparations for the Oysters' trip will continue through the 12th. Anyone who would like to utilize the honorary staff prompts from the TDM is welcome to do so, if they haven't already! On the morning of the 13th, characters will be ushered through a back hallway with a series of twists and turns that finally opens into a garden. They will have staff escorts to guide them through the garden and the forest beyond it, and will not return to the hotel for five days.

Throughout the duration of the event (a few days before they leave and a few days after they return to the hotel), characters may find themselves suddenly "bonded" with another character and unable to go more than a dozen feet away from them. Congratulations — the hotel has selected your buddy for the buddy system! The means by which this is enforced is up to you. It can be an invisible cord that physically won't allow them to leave each other, a tugging that pulls them back together, a sensation of pain at being apart and comfort at being together, or any or all of the above. (For ease of threading purposes, this can be stretched far enough that a private conversation can be held without your character's buddy present, but it may be a little unpleasant.)

This bond will escalate fairly quickly from physical proximity to emotional connection. Characters will begin to feel whatever emotions that their buddy is feeling, and it will eventually progress into feeling physical sensations like pain and hunger as well. At this point, characters may no longer need to stay in close physical proximity, as they will still be with each other emotionally. Characters will only be able to break this when they reach an emotional understanding.

Players who want to participate in the buddy system can sign up to have their buddy RNGed, or those who participated in this prompt on the TDM can have their bond carry over if both players want. Characters who reach an emotional understanding with their buddy before the event is over can end up "bonded" to another buddy, if players would like! This second bond would be up to players to choose.

During the trip, characters may occasionally see a tall figure among the staff accompanying them — wearing a dark suit with a ceramic rabbit head. He will never seem to be there when characters look for him, but there will be an opportunity for brief interactions. This is particularly true for characters whose previous actions have drawn attention to themselves.

When it comes to battling creatures, are there spirits in the forest and if WWX used his Spirit Attraction ability, could he get them to fight the creatures?

Edit: Also if characters choose to make weapons such as arrows and spears for hunting, will they be confiscated?

If a character lost a limb during the fight with the creatures, would they (or others) be told they would be taken somewhere for medical attention? Or would other characters be able to see them get taken off?

Or if the character happened to have a paper man on him for communication in case he was separated from his group, would it be noticed and taken from him?

If not, and the paper man connected to Wei Wuxian through his paper metamorphosis ability tea, is there anything that they could discover during the recovery process?

- What qualifies as vermin? Definitions seem to vary, so mostly wondering can wwx interact with generic forest creatures? Or would it extend up to the larger beasties too?
-And with either/both, would he be able to find out any pertinent information from them?

Event Plans:
Crowley has gotten back his shapeshifting powers! So if you want to run into an absolutely massive black snake (either on the trip or otherwise) I am very down. He's also holding on to two other teas (Shepard's cyber prosthetics and Novel!Lan Wangji's silence spell) until he either finds out who they belong to, or he needs to down them in an emergency.

He and Aziraphale will be stuck as buddies, and having quite a bit of drama about it because Feelings. He's also going to be testing how far they can get from their captors without drawing too much notice.

Fun Note: Last month Aziraphale and Crowley managed to get their hands on some knives. They are totally down for giving these out to people so IF YOUR CHARACTER WOULD LIKE A KNIFE Please let Xy or me know, and either Crowley or Aziraphale will slip one to them!

Event Plans: Aziraphale is the worst camper and he's buttmad about having to do it barefoot. He will probably try to spend most of his time in the gardens and might need some help setting up on camp grounds. He doesn't need to eat to survive, but please feed him some of your food for friendship.

Additionally, he and Crowley picked up some weapons and are planning to give them out to the other guests!! They picked up... a cattleprod, scalpels, knives, a baseball bat, rope, and some archaic instruments. You can ask either me or Rivers to give you one idk how many we actually have but please only request one!

He's also going to go fight the... whatever we're fighting later, and oh yeah that's right meet your new GRANDMASTER OF DEMONIC CULTIVATION. Did you think the title was going to go to one of the other mdzs cast? Well, think again! Nope, Aziraphale is gonna summon the heck outta... Crowley who is the only demon, and who he's partnered with... But if you wanna hear some badass flute solos, let me know.

He also has miracles which are basically super hack powers that include healing, light-making, adding cherries to the middle of your Black Forest Cake that you forgot to add cherries to... you know, miracles! So lmk if you need some rescuing of your own!

Event Plans: Lan Wangji is just so grateful to be outside again you guys, like look, Earth. Trees!!! He's gonna be doing the most setting up camp, enjoying the scenery, and probably getting yeeted by whatever creature he's gotta fight. But he'll at least be fighting it as potentially both pairs of WangXian and his brother and ??? the more the merrier!

He'll be doing a lot more self-guided exploring around the general area than Aziraphale, and he also tried to read all the books provided to categorize all the plants if you have any doubts. He has a good amount of basic survival skills, and for the physically attached part of the buddy system, he will come with 1 (one) TV Wei Wuxian in tow.
CR Desires: He def just needs to meet everyone else and also u know, be less of an introvert. But he is very introverted. Extroverts, please adopt him.

Sam is 100% going to set up Aziraphale's tent but this also means he will have to put up with Sam hanging out third wheeling him and Crowley for a bit. ....can this be the time that Sam realizes that there is a thing there so he can be :D

- He'll join the expedition and comes prepared with a medic kit/first aid

- I'm going need to someone to be his first bonding buddy in the first few days (probably for two days of the five), but then afterward, he will part from the first buddy to be with his partner novel!Wei Wuxian for the remaining days. At the moment, I don't have anyone in mind for his first bonding buddy, but I can make a closed starter for this prompt. But novel!lwj is an introvert and feel things very intensely, so he's going to put up a wall to block his emotions and will gladly endure physical/mental/emotional pain. This can change later.

- Depending on the forest creature he'll be facing off, he will more likely fight with a group or if it's strong and dangerous, he will flee and plead for escape, considering his only defense is his vocal ability and carrying a bag of medicine, he's a healer and support.

Mikumo Guynemer | Macross Delta

Character: Mikumo Guynemer
Event Plans: So at a glance, Mikumo is pretty used to camping and doing it rough despite her appearance because she's often had to do spy missions on hostile planets and thus she'll actually be pretty used to this sort of thing. I've got her in buddy RNG but if someone wants to potentially be a second buddy I'm open to it - she's fairly flexible in terms of learning about other people's emotional stuff so she probably won't be too hard to reach an understanding with.
That said, anyone who buddies with Mikumo is likely to notice her emotions are...odd. Most notably, her emotional reactions are generally extremely subdued and occasionally kind of unsuited to the situation, and there are certain emotions she doesn't really feel like fear and uncertainty (it took her like 3 years of living in an ongoing war to feel fear for the first time). It's an almost literal example of Not Knowing How To Feels considering her relatively short existence and the kinds of conditions she was created to be able to consistently cope with.
She's also in the monster encounter RNG so we'll see how that goes but if she gets in, I'm happy for her to pair up or group up with people!
CR Desires: Anyone, everyone, I want Mikumo to establish good connections here since she's not super used to doing that outside her group back home. She's been through some shit even if she doesn't necessarily look like it, so she'll definitely more used to people who've had rough and fighty lives.

Sam'll definitely gravitate to her at some point during the camping trip! Once he picks up that she's used to this kind of thing, he'll share that he is too and see if he can get her talking a little about herself - I'd love for them to hang out by the campfire or help set up camp together or something.

Sam Wilson (MCU) | Lan Xichen (The Untamed)

Character: Sam Wilson
Event Plans: Sam's a former pararescueman, so he's used to outdoor survival and is going to be real glad to get out of the hotel! Anyone who needs help setting up camp will find him willing to lend a hand. He's had a run in with bunny hitman before and drew attention to himself at the last event trying to cause distractions for sneaky sneaking, so he's going to be pretty wary about their chaperone. He also got paper metamorphosis as a superpower tea this time around, so he's going to be playing with that and seeing if he can make a little paper bird messenger.
CR Desires: Anything and everything! Continuing to strengthen the acquaintances and friendships that he has, particularly when it comes to making allies to exchange information and plot against the queen. At this point he's kind of okay with putting a little bit of a target on himself if it means it takes attention of other people - and especially if it means they see him as a troublemaker and think he can't also be a little sneaky, so he might start leaning into that.



Character: Lan Xichen
Event Plans: Running around in the forest on night hunts is pretty standard where he's from so he's feeling very much at home right now! Except for the whole barefoot thing but when. I threw him in the RNG for a bond partner, and for the creature fight! I apologize preemptively for whoever ends up partnered with him and also has to deal with his family. I'm planning on putting up both a toplevel and an open mingle campfire log for camping shenanigans!

He also got Aziraphale's blessings tea so whether or not he's actually fighting the creature, he'll want to bless whoever is to give them extra luck/protection.
CR Desires: Up for anything! I'm excited to get him CR outside of his brothers and brothers-in-law - I'd especially love multiple bond partners to reach an understanding with! He's pretty empathic and almost endlessly patient, so he'll be eager to understand.

WRT the event, Yanli has looked into the plant life in the garden a la the TDM prompt from last month. She's very curious to see the beauty the garden has to offer, but also knows there's some danger out there. If anyone would like for her to be part of their little camping group, please invite her -- she's very nervous to be going it alone when she knows some plants can just full on swallow you. In exchange, she can show you what she can do with camping food. Camping def isn't the worst thing Yanli has been through, and she can rough it in a garden for a few days.
CR Desires: I'm currently open to everything, being new and all! Let's throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.
