THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT

Does anything in this hotel ever stay put? Those who go looking for the gym, the hotel spa, or the nightclub are out of luck one day, as they're simply no longer there. The hallways themselves go topsy-turvy, only staying put when one looks directly at them. For those who've been here long enough to have seen the last time the hotel shifted like this and remember how unhelpful the hotel staff were — it seems little there has changed. The only difference is the manner in which they are useless. They will acknowledge the shifting hallways, of course, and even provide direction back to the lobby, but profess they are much too busy to provide an escort.

Eventually, the hallways settle. Gone are The Caucus-Race, the Pearls Within, and the Rabbit Hole in favor of new amenities. Where once there was a gym, there's now an indoor playground. The nightclub has been replaced with an arcade, and the spa is now a massive movie theater. Were there always quite so many kids items on the restaurant menus? When did This Elegant Thimble get such a large children's section?

If asked, the hotel staff will shrug. Some will insist things have been this way for as long as they've been working there. Others will state that, like their wonderful Queen, the hotel will always know what's needed for any occasion and make suitable preparations.

EVENT FIVE

As it turns out, the kids the hotel is preparing for are none other than the Oysters themselves! Beginning on the 11th and lasting through the 23rd, characters may wake up as their younger selves. They will have no memories of the hotel or of the events of their canon after their age point, and hotel staff will treat them as though they are brand new to the hotel. Players can choose what age they would like to have their characters as, from small children to teenagers! This can occur at any point during the event and can last for the duration, or can end after a few days depending on player preference. Characters will wake up back to their usual selves, and will remember everything that occurred while they were younger.

The arcade will have the standard games one might expect, as well as some with a Wonderland twist. Their version of whack-a-mole may prove a little more difficult than expected, with the the grinning striped "moles" vanishing and reappearing intermittently, and skee-ball is made more interesting when the balls have minds of their own and occasionally get up and walk away. Characters can win tickets from the games, which can be traded in for small prizes such as invisible ink, bouncy balls, water pistols, and small stuffed animals.

The movie theater will show primarily kids movies during the day, action and romantic comedies in the later afternoon, and horror movies in the evening and late hours. Perfect for date night, wouldn't you agree? Anyone under the age of 15 will not be allowed in to see the horror movies without an adult with them — unless, of course, they sneak in on their own.

Characters who are not de-aging, or who are currently older teenagers, can also choose to help out in the daycare! Those who pay attention will notice that there's more children than expected, many of whom do not have an Oyster mark. If asked, the hotel staff will be reluctant to answer questions about them, and will only say that the Queen is very generous to her subjects and has always provided free daycare for them. The children themselves will be more forthcoming about their lives and experiences, particularly if approached by characters close to their age. Hotel staff may also be more inclined to answer some questions from characters who have been de-aged.

The exception to this is characters who were prominent in causing distractions during the last event. Hotel staff will not allow them in the daycare if they are themselves, and will need a lot of convincing to accept them as a daycare attendee if they've been de-aged. They can, of course, opt to attempt to sneak into the playground anyway. Characters who are barred from the playground and sneak in run the risk of getting caught — fortunately, the only consequence of this will be further irritation from the hotel staff, along with being escorted out.

There are no sign-ups for this, but there will be a prompt on the event post for characters to ask questions and get answers!

Obligatory weird situation question: because Mikumo is a clone, she was "born" as an adult and has never appeared younger than she currently looks. Given the way the post is written, would this mean she's unable to be deaged by the event (since it refers to "no memories past their age points" so I'm assuming this is a case of regressing the character's personal timeline or something along those lines)? I don't mind if that's the case since making Mikumo deal with kids would be hilarious, I just thought I'd make sure!

Similar to Mikumo, Aziraphale was plopped into his middle-aged human-looking body 6000 years ago, and before that he was a celestial being with no canon description (unless you count the Bible as extended canon, in which he would blind mortals and make them go mad with his angelic form)

Does he get a fancy new young body he doesn't know what to do with, or will he remain... looking like he does?

Is there a limit as to how many prizes a child/teen can win? Children can get addicted to games, and they may want to collect all the prizes...or play to win for the purpose to hoard them.

I would like Wangji to collect so many toys and stuffed animals. But it would be funny if the staff gets irritated at him if he collects so many.

But out of curiosity, any stuffed rabbit dolls/toys?

But...Novel WWX is not in his own body anymore. His soul is inside someone else body. So when this body de-ages...does he retain this body's face or will he just go back to how he looked as a child in his own body?

And if this body is the one that de-ages..would his soul still be the child in this body or would it actually be the child version of the original owner of the body?

less weird but still obligatory question: we know very little about my character's region because we just don't see it much in canon, and one of the results is we don't know my character's personal name, only the polite courtesy version. For the event, can I give my character a hc personal name, or create an explanation (like the region giving them to kids earlier)?

When the characters are de-aged, would they be abruptly wearing clothing too large for them, or would they be wearing whatever they were wearing at the time when they were actually that age? And would they have in thier pockets whatever they had then (assuming it isn't a weapon)

Event Plans: I'm not sure if I want him to be a teenager or a baby child, but please take care of this super serious lad, he's very srs bzns and I'm glad he'll have family and friends he recognizes. If he's older he'll definitely get put on babysitting duty but for the younglings he has a scary face. Anyone wanna hang out with him? I don't think he'll want to play games but he might get dragged along by his brother, his brother's brother, or his stupid dumb no-good crush.
CR Desires: Gosh all of it I'm sorry he hasn't really changed in 20 years. So he'll just be back to being like WTF is going on and why are we here!!

Event Plans: Matt has gotten stuck as the babysitter in a lot of my rp experience so this time I'm making him one of the kids, likely around 11 or 12. That's post-accident and dad-death so he'll be wondering where all the nuns and other kids from the orphanage are. He may also know how to fight and a whole bunch of curse words thanks to a grouchy old sensei who does not/did not treat him right, but who he misses anyway. (The subject of physical and mental child abuse might come up if you follow that subject far enough. Let me know if you want to avoid that.) Watch out that potty mouth!

I'm going to have him bother the staff at the daycare for information. He would have a lot of questions anyway.

CR Desires: Good influences, bad influences. He might initiate or join in trouble making if he gets bored. He's a little wiseass sometimes, particularly toward adults. He'll insist he's fine on his own but is generally easy to read as lonely. He is used to doing without and letting other kids get more of the attention or first dibs.

Mikumo Guynemer | Macross Delta

Character: Mikumo Guynemer
Event Plans: So Mikumo can't mentally regress to a child because she was literally born an adult (clone/engineered human woes). Given that, she's going to be on babysitting duty for some of the event and people are welcome to request her presence for shenanigans. She's not blocked from the play areas since she didn't participate in the distractions, but she won't have the advantage of seeming innocent for information-gathering. Though she can at least talk to the kiddos - she's already fairly aware the hotel is trying to do right by its staff given the meeting she overheard with Queen Victoria and some of the head honchos last event, so that'll be an interesting contrast for her to consider against the whole "kidnapping people from their worlds and screwing with them" situation.
I'm also going to take this opportunity to play with her weird situation with the source of her cloning material and have her temporarily revert back to her true/original form (warning for her kinda scant outfit), the Star Singer minus her high fashion boots, for a few days. She will be noticeably Off and very much on the "blue and orange morality" spectrum in this form, because Protoculture is weird and once made a species intended to just wage war on itself for eternity for funsies. However, without her powers this won't be an issue, which is good because otherwise she might be trying to make the residents of the hotel assimilate to the hivemind with her voice.
CR Desires: Anything goes, really, I'd love to deepen some of Mikumo's existing CR and widen her net a bit, so both old and new CR is welcome. I'd like her to get some people she feels comfortable with here rather than just kind of treating them vaguely professionally all the time.

Lan Wangji (novel) | Mo Dao Zu Shi | ota

Event Plans: He'll turn into a child! Visual: 1, 2. I was thinking 10 years old, where he's lonely and depressed. Mother died since he was six. Lives in insolation in his jingshi. Distant uncle who pressures to study a lot and train a lot...and didn't like the pressure of the discipline of his clan despite he's good academically. Just brother and uncle. Not much family talk. Not much social. He'll explore all areas of the hotel, and becoming addicted an lost to the fun of the games and the movies, and shenanigans with the other children.
CR Desires: Open to anyone! child!Wangji or teen!Wangji is a fairly lonely and depressed child, so he'll be curious of the teens and adults, and trust the elder's oysters.

General plan: The first week, 11th to 18th he'll be around 10 years old. Toward the end of the week, around 19th to 22nd, for a few days, I might make him 17 for a few days when his father died after tortoise of slaughter or mid-twenties after he was whipped for discipline and burned himself with the iron or perhaps still remain 10 years old. Any questions, just hmu here for plotting!|

Character: Commander Jane "Red" Shepard
Event Plans: Shep will be becoming a tiny gremlin of a child!
CR Desires: Shepard grew up on the streets running with a gang called the "Tenth Street Reds" who, among other things, were drug runners and dealers, and she acted at first as someone who moved "product" around for them and later (after her powers came in) someone who actually murdered people on their behalf. She had a rough childhood! She is a rough person!

So she's going to be mean, and have bad language, and insist on treating people like targets and she is going to break things and steal things and monopolize video games she likes and general take a might-makes-right stance on literally everything until someone makes her understand that sometimes people aren't trying to hurt you. She will trust no grown up farther than it is immediately and physically beneficial to do so, and is quite likely to fashion a shiv out of something. What a charming youth!

So, I don't know if your character is going to be stuck trying to take care of her, stop her from busting the glass on the claw machine, get bullied by her, or joining her in a street hallway-gang, but.... I want it all.

Also she calls herself "Red". Who is Shepard, never heard of them.

Event Plans: Putting WWX at about 14/15 for most of the event, might play him as a wee little orphan later on. He will be getting up to as much trouble as he can, most likely. Thinking of planning a raid on the kitchens to steal some booze and definitely sneaking into the play areas and maybe doing some graffiti here and there.

Event Plans:
It's basically going to be whatever I feel like writing when the post goes up LOL But I'm playing with the possibility of 3-4 year old WWX at the beginning and him gradually getting older as the event goes on. So wee bitty will be a little shy, and VERY confused as to why his face doesn't look like it used to. TDLR/Spoilers: This WWX's soul is in a different body then the one he was born in. So when he ages down, he will not have his original body but the young body of the one he is currently in.

Next he will be about 10 years old. Far more outgoing and starting to be a little more of a troublemaker. Perhaps still hunting answers as to how he ended up in a different body. And then towards the end of the event he will be about 16 years old. More accepting of the fact he has a different face even if he doesn't understand it. Flirty, mischievous, and ready to break all the rules.

CR Desires: Pretty sure he has met 90% of the hotel at this point so I'm not sure how much new CR is out there lol But he will take all the CR!

Event Plans:
Xie Lian is going to de-age almost 800 years LOL. He is going to be about 13 and be in the spoiled crown prince kind of mentality. He will be very confused about why his room is a run down old temple and will probably spend most of the event searching for his actual chambers. He will be a little too confident and fussy about what he does/eats/etc. Please knock him down a couple notches.

CR: He is brand new so he will take allll the CR. And hopefully won't turn anyone off from talking to him later when he is 800 years more mature XD

Nie Mingjue | Mo Dao Zu Shi

Event Plans: I'm going to have NMJ as a nine year old for the first week (11-18), and then mid-teens, around 16 for week two (19-23). As a nine year old, he's competitive and scrappy and curious, and hunting for his little brother, who should be three years old and right here with him and he's VERY upset that he isn't. His courtesy name Mingjue is still one he recognizes, but he'll probably ask why people aren't calling him by his birth name (hc: 菊 Jú). As a sixteen year old, it's the week his dad died a horrible death, and he's uhhhhh shook.

CR Desires: Totally brand new character, so I'm up for any and all CR!

Event Plans: He is going to be available as both an adult and a sarcastic teenager! He'll be around 16, when he was in his angry phase before he graduated to his "oh I'll join the military" phase. He's a lot more rough around the edges and prone to lashing out - which means he's definitely going to dole out apologies when he's an adult.
CR Desires: Deepening his current CR, getting new CR! I neglected him last month so definitely want to give him more this month - he'll be looking to make trouble as a teenager and wanting to look after kids as an adult, so I'm up for either!


Character: Lan Xichen
Event Plans: He will be a teenager for the whole event! He'll be aging down to about 15/16, after his mother died but before his father died and made him Sect leader. He's in his rebellious phase! Which, for him, means he's read all the books in the Sect library and is now exploring learning new things. Like loopholes to their various rules. He will be more up for getting into shenanigans than usual, but will also be helping look after any younger kids! And will try to help out in the daycare.

Sessyoin Kiara | Fate/Grand Order

Character: Sessyoin Kiara
Event Plans: Kiara's getting aged down a few days into the event! She'll look like this (thank you FGO for giving me an actual design a couple of weeks ago. Excellent timing!) and she'll be partaking in some of the stuff, just not...a lot.

Kiara was a pretty sickly and sheltered child, so most of this is new to her. It's probably her first time in an arcade or seeing a movie as a kid, so she'll definitely want to try out some of that. And that means she'll definitely have questions about stuff too! But she'll try not to overdo it because this is all very new and she's having fun, she just doesn't want to push herself too much and end up in bed for the rest of the event.

CR Desires: Anything really! Small Kiara has much less going on than regular Kiara. So she's here to make friends and probably ramble about the Little Mermaid at least once.
